Autobid function
Using the "Autobid" function you can simplify the bidding process. Enter the highest bid you are willing to offer for an item in the "Autobid" text box. The auction system will now make an automatic bid for you whenever you are outbid. These automatic bids are made with the minimum bid increment until it reaches your maximum bid amount. You will be notified by e-mail whenever you are outbid during the auction. An autobid is entered at the same time as a regular bid and it works as an agent that bids for you. The agents follow the same set of rules as "regular" bids.
Autobids are marked with a * (star sign).
If you want to change your autobid in an auction where you have the highest bid, your new maximum bid must be at least one bid increment higher than your current bid.
NOTICE! If you choose to activate Autobid for an object where the reserve price is not met, the reserve price will act as a counter bid. See below:
- Autobid under reserve price: Current bid will be your maximum bid.
- Autobid over reserve price: Current bid will be same as the reserve price.
Bidding
When you click on the "Place Bid" button, you will be taken to a new page where you confirm your bid (or your autobid). Your bids are marked with yellow color in the bid list. Notice: This shows only when you are logged in.
Updating the bid list
It is important that you make sure to update the auction so that you are always viewing the currently highest bid. To update the auction, click the "Update auction" button on the right side of the main picture. In most internet browsers, pressing "F5"-button will also update the content. By continuously updating, you will always see the latest leading bid and time left of the auction. This is especially important in the ending minutes of the auction.
Bidding in the last minutes
If a bid is placed during the last ten minutes of an auction, the auction is automatically extended with another ten minutes, from the time when the last bid was placed.
Auction Alert service
As a registered buyer on "My Account" page you can activate the Auction Alert service, which lets you enter search words for products you are interested in. Example: enter the word "loader" or "truck", and the system will send you an e-mail each time similar products is out on an auction. You may also search for specific makes. (ie. "Volvo" or "Toyota").
